Dimet® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation represents a new generation of protective agents. It is manufactured according to the protective technology and based on the conception of antiseptic constant movement during the entire warranty period provided by the manufacturer. Conventional (i.e. well-known and often outdated formulations and technologies) treatments and antiseptics do not produce the constant movement effect. Once they dry out, the antiseptic agents stop moving, i.e. they stay on the depth they have penetrated into until destruction or wash-off. Traditional impregnation compounds start losing their properties immediately after application.

1. What is Dimet® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound applied for?

Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound serves aesthetic, protective and hygienic goals. It not only tones wood into different colors and hardens its surface, but also protects from moisture penetration, retains water-yielding capacity and, consequently, hinders wood deformation which may result from possible drying-up. In addition, the product allows to prevent decay of wood and its destruction by fungi or insects.

2. Why is Dimet® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound better than all conventional impregnations and antiseptics?

Dimet® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation represents a new generation of protective agents. It is manufactured according to the protective technology and based on the conception of antiseptic constant movement during the entire warranty period provided by the manufacturer. Conventional (i.e. well-known and often outdated formulations and technologies) treatments and antiseptics do not produce the constant movement effect. Once they dry out, the antiseptic agents stop moving, i.e. they stay on the depth they have penetrated into until destruction or wash-off. Traditional impregnation compounds start losing their properties immediately after application. When exposed to rains, snow, wind, sun and temperature drops, conventional impregnation compounds and antiseptics are easily destructed and washed out from the surface layer of woodwork. Microorganisms (fungi, mold, bacteria, pores, etc.) and insects immediately congregate in unprotected areas and start destroying the surface. Water, snow, wind, sun beams and temperature drops destruct and wash out antiseptic agents from the deeper layers, allowing microorganisms to penetrate deeper and destroy the wooden product completely. Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound has a quite different effect. It is so efficient that the manufacturer ensures reliable protection during the entire warranty period (subject to compliance with the recommended consumption rate of Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound per sq m). Microorganisms are mainly located in the surface layer of a wooden product and penetrate to a depth of 2-20 mm depending on wood structure and density. Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound saturates your woodwork to a depth where microorganisms cannot penetrate. All its components spread evenly, exterminating the insects, microorganisms and, what is especially important, their pores. Unlike conventional impregnation compounds and antiseptics, Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound is almost not washed out from the surface layer, which ensures overall protection from destructive effect of fungi, mold, insects, etc. during the entire warranty period. In case of insignificant wash-out, Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound is replaced with a new portion of the product which comes from the deeper layers and produces a constant movement effect. Since all microorganisms, insects and their pores are eradicated in the depth, they can penetrate only through the external (surface) layer which is constantly protected with Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound coming from the woodwork depth. This is what sets Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound apart from other conventional impregnation compounds.

Notice: With Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound, you can be sure that your efforts, time and money spent for acquisition and application of protective antiseptic are not in vain.

3. Why Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound is more efficient as compared to conventional paintwork materials?

Paints (oil, pentaphtol) widely used for wooden products and structures protect with a polymeric film formed on a surface. Resistance, elasticity and adhesion of a coating to a base may be sufficient when it has just dried out. However, environmental effects change its properties: exposure to UV-rays leads to oxidation of bonding agent and structural destruction. This reduces coating resistance, its elasticity and adhesion to a wood base. After a while the coating becomes unable to withstand large volumetric changes specific to the wood base, especially in the open air, and as a result it cracks and peels. Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound not only forms a protective film but also reinforces and hydrophobizates (enhances waterproof properties) a wood surface layer to a considerable depth, producing a highly-protective effect.

4. How many layers of Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound ensure reliable protection of wood surfaces?

The first impregnation layer is almost totally absorbed by a painted surface, reinforcing the surface layer, protecting from biodeterioration (fungi and mold), oxygen and air. The first coat is a primary one and does not protect from accidental water or rain penetration.
The second and further layers are top coats and generate a solid film on the surface. These layers have the main protective and decorative function. It is recommended to apply the top coats not earlier than 12 hours (at 20°С) and not earlier than 20 hours (at 15°С) after the primary layer.

5. What is the optimal recommended ambient temperature for application of Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound?

For your comfort it is recommended to apply the product at a temperature above +5°С, which allows the compound to dry quickly and enables you to apply more layers within a short period of time. It is not recommended to paint at a temperature below +5°С as drying time increases significantly.

6. Is Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound environmentally safe and applicable for interior finishing?

Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound was developed in compliance with the up-to-date environmental requirements of the Ministry of Health. Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound passed a rigorous environmental safety inspection in the Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision of the 24th Medical Station of the Federal Department for Bio-Medical and Extreme Problems under the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The product received a high appraisal as a reliable and safety solution for antiseptic treatment and protection of woodwork from decay and deterioration processes.Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound can be used for interior finishing.

7. What is the best way to apply Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound?

A surface to be treated shall be clean and dry, ambient temperature – at least 0°С, relative air humidity – below 90%. Do not apply on wet or ice-covered (frosted) surface! Clean a new wooden surface from dust, mud and loose fibers with a brush. Clean previously treated antiseptic surface with a steel brush to remove all loose agents. Mix thoroughly before application and stir constantly during operation. Prepare enough Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound in one container for each surface to be treated to avoid tone difference. Apply the impregnation compound over a plank and a board to get a plane layer.

8. What can be used to dissolve Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound?

It is recommended to dissolve Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound with no more than 10% of Turbo-Reactive Solvent, solvent, 646, acetone or white spirit.

9. What is the warranty period of Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound and with what consumption per sq m?

The warranty period of Dimet ® Ultra-Antiseptic Impregnation Compound applied in one layer (200-250 g/sq m) is up to 4 years under atmospheric conditions.
